Drew Rasmussen thoughts on Blockchain and the growth of OTCXN :
“I see the misuse or abuse of the word ‘Blockchain’ often. There are many that believe the best approach is to separate components of the Blockchain or to utilize one piece of the Blockchain, yet still call it a Blockchain. I see this as a bit silly considering many components have long existed before the Blockchain came to fruition; in many ways, breaking it back up is a reversion to old ideas. For example, what makes a car? Is it the windows? Is it the tires? Is it the engine? A car is the summation of many components within a particular model.
So, should we call something built with only some Blockchain components assembled in a completely different way a Blockchain?
I view the current Blockchain ecosystem with some parity to the old dumb phone (as opposed to smart phone) era. Every year, we expect faster processors, more memory, better screen technology, improved radios, increased battery life, etc., yet, we also want them to remain relatively the same. So, from my perspective, I feel that the Blockchain of the future should slowly incorporate more, or improved, functionality while keeping intact the intended functions.
I am not necessarily advocating against componentization of the Blockchain; only that we be mindful and fully understanding of how to do it effectively.
I believe OTC Exchange Network will be a leader within the Blockchain, Distributed Ledger Technology, and Foreign Currency Trading community. We have solutions to real challenges, whereas most of our community affiliates have a solution and are seeking a problem.”
